Since the release of their critically acclaimed, self-titled 2017 album debut, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, (bassist Corey McCormick, drummer Anthony LoGerfo and percussionist Tato Melgar) have maintained an intense tour schedule shredding festival stages and headlining their own shows across the U.S. and Europe. In September 2018 they released a 5 track EP ‘Forget About Georgia’, they are nominated for Band Of The Year at this year’s Americana Awards, and Lukas and the band will make their major motion picture debut in the highly anticipated remake of Warner Bros’ ‘A Star Is Born’ for which Lukas co-wrote many of the film’s songs with stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. Lukas has collaborated not only with his legendary father Willie Nelson and pop superstars like Gaga but also rock luminaries such as Neil Young and the indie pop duo Lucius. And Lukas has inherited from his father a deep appreciation for a well-hewn song as he has spent his whole life listening to Willie re-invent classics from the American Songbook. Whether it was growing up hearing the classic 1978 album ‘Stardust’ that was one of the best received and best-selling of Willie’s career to witnessing his more recent Grammy winning collection of Gershwin songs or the creation of the new Sinatra tribute “My Way”, Lukas has had a front row seat to his father’s particular gift for interpretation.
