Oslo based Jakob Ogawa (20) was one of last year’s buzziest names amongst young new talents. The DIY artist started 2017 by signing with Playground Music and releasing his first EP “Bedroom Tapes” (actually made in his bedroom). But this was just the beginning — at the end of the year he could look back at several concerts at show case festivals in both Norway and Germany, touring Europe as a support for American LANY, a recorded video session with Berlin-based COLORS, interview with major international media such as NYLON, and two songs featured in the American comedy Broad City. This year he is to be found on stage at the major festivals Lollapalooza in Argentina and Roskilde in Denmark.
While 2017 represented the year where Ogawa took the leap from his bedroom towards the stage, 2018 will be the year where he explores new musical territories replacing some of the nostalgia in his previous material with a new edge and angles still keeping the warmth that made fans falling in love with his music in the first place.
