Panshak Zamani, better known by his stage name Ice Prince, is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and actor. Ice Prince, was born (born 30 October 1986), in Minna, Niger State. His family moved to Jos, Nigeria, two short years later, where Ice spent the majority of his youth.
In 2004, Ice Prince joined forces with Chocolate City President, M.I., as well as, Jesse Jagz, Ruby, Lindsey, Eve, and Taz, and became what is now known as, “Loopy”
Ice Prince rose to fame after releasing "Oleku", one of Africa's most remixed songs of all time. His musical career from that day forward would never be the same. Moving Forward, in 2009, he won the Hennessy Artistry Club Tour. At this point, Ice Prince’s brand had become global, and he was now arguably the hottest African rapper in the game. So much so, that he is one of the first African artist to have music collaboration with international artists. Ice has collaborated with many industry heavy hitters including: French Montana, Jeremih, Roscoe Dash, Krept & Konan, Sarkodie, AKA, Wizkid, Robbie Celeste, MI, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dija and more.
Ice Prince was also recently featured on the Lil Durk Tour, Global Citizens Festival.
Ice Prince’s talent is undeniable. He has won and been nominated for over fifty musical achievement awards, including the BET Awards (Best International Act: Africa 2012 & 2013), MTV Africa Music Awards (Best Hip Hop), MOBO Awards (Best African Act), Channel O Music Video Awards (Most Gifted African West Video, Most Gifted Video of the Year, Most Gifted Hip-hop Video of the Year, Most Gifted Reggae Video of the Year), The Headies Award (Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Rap Album,Hip Hop World Revelation of the Year, Song Of The Year) and the Ghana Music Award (African Artist of the Year), amongst numerous others.
His major musical influences are Notorious B.I.G., Rakim, Jay-Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, and Lauryn Hill. Pivotal artist, M.I. and Jesse Jagz, who are also close friends of Ice, have also been notably influential his music.
Ice Prince is currently signed to Chocolate City, where he became the Vice President of the music label in July of 2015. He also is brand ambassador for Africa’s leading phone company, Etisalat, and national bank, SkyBank.
