British organist Robert Quinney attended Eton College and was an organ scholar at King's College, Cambridge from 1995 to 1998. After earning his bachelor's and master's degrees, Quinney became the acting sub-organist of Westminster Abbey, and became the assistant master of music at Westminster Cathedral in 2000, where he directed the Westminster Cathedral Choir and played many organ recitals. Returning to Westminster Abbey in 2004, Quinney took the Choir of Westminster Abbey on a tour of the United States, and recorded four albums for Hyperion. Quinney was the organist for the wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, to Kate Middleton in 2011. Since 2014, Quinney directs the New College Choir, Oxford, and teaches at the University of Oxford as an associate professor. He continues to give recitals and writes articles about music. In addition to recording for Hyperion, Quinney has released albums on Signum Classics, Coro, and Novum.
